Response to the Cry of the Poor
The Response to the Cry of the Poor is a call to promote eco-justice and being aware that we are called to defend human life from conception to death, and all forms of life on Earth.
This goal will cover themes of Human rights, Indigenous issues, and modern slavery.
Highlights of what we have planned to achieve by end of 2025: -
· Continue to provide leadership and development of programs of Indigenous partnership.
· Work with relevant stakeholders to investigate advocacy projects to assist those in need.
· Review existing partnerships and seek the guidance and wisdom of those we walk with.
What we have achieved: -
· The Province holds extensive relationships directly with First Nations communities and individuals. We commit to walking in partnership with these communities, sharing wisdom, seeking reconciliation and mutual liberation. Through these relationships this will be an ongoing area of development.
· Work with relevant stakeholders to investigate advocacy projects to assist those in need. Through ERCS and most specifically the ERCJCE the Province is very active in seeking advancement of advocacy opportunities. The support of the Pacific Calling Partnership project of Pacific Islander countries and communities and the internships of young people from those communities is a primary example of advocacy in this area. - Ongoing Formation Team and ERCJCE – through these relationships and projects this will be an ongoing area of development.
